For his debut album, Tridact presents a sonic journey in the form of ten song-oriented tracks – all instrumental. An eclectic affair, the overall sound is tied together by his signature use of vintage synthesizers, drum machines and analog gear. The album is rooted in melody and forgoes subtlety in favor of the unrestrained sound of buzzing basses and leads combined with lush, layered chords and soaring strings, all grounded in rhythms that range from potent four-on-the-floor dance floor workouts to introspective breakbeat jams. Each track is a journey in itself, often taking the listener from melancholia to euphoria, and from serenity to cacophony and back again. Tridact began composing his opus by the foothills and sunny shores of Southern California and completed it surrounded by the mountains and shady forests of Southern Oregon. The result is ten musical short stories, unfolding to reflect a uniquely Pacific Coast experience.
