The 32nd release on Clubsonica Records welcomes Dmitry Molosh back to the label for a brand new single. Following releases on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Cid Inc’s Replug Records and Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank Records, Dmitry closed out 2016 with his first single for the Colombian imprint. ‘Glow’ went on to achieve both critical and commercial success, earning praise from Sasha and Hernan Cattaneo, while also fairing well in Beatport’s progressive house charts. Now making his much anticipated return to Clubsonica Dmitry presents his latest studio creation entitled ‘Expression’, alongside remixes from Kamilo Sanclemente & Golan Zocher, LoQuai and Jonnas B.

Having grown into one of the label’s primary artists, Dmitry delivers what would have to be his most sought after track of the year. Beginning with chunky bass tones, detailed percussion and electric stabs the piece has an immediate allure. As its rolling groove gains momentum devilish effects flow through the framework while timely drops provide dynamic moments. Indistinct vocals add to its rhythmic core, flowing effortlessly into a dramatic break. Short and impactful, the centrepiece moves through frayed sonics with a modular cascade building anticipation, leading to a magical drop that’s sure to light up your dance floor.

The first interpretation of ‘Expression’ is provided by Kamilo Sanclemente & Golan Zocher who are making their collaborative debut here. With a collective discography that includes releases on Asymmetric Recordings, Crossfade Sounds and Perspectives Digital, Kamilo and Golan have enjoyed success in their respective solo careers. The duo now present their first collaborative effort with an excellent rendition of ‘Expression’. The spirit of the original is well conveyed albeit in a deeper more refined context. Anchored by a rolling groove the energy flows with a mesmerizing cadence, before a timely break brings a melodious moment. Masterfully crafted, the centrepiece pulls at your emotions before a smooth energy bridge carries through to an exhilarating third act finale. Not only a brilliant remix but a perfect complement to Dmitry’s heady original.

The second interpretation of ‘Expression’ is provided by Konstantin Alt aka LoQuai who is making his second appearance on Clubsonica. The Russian born Germany based artist first appeared on the Colombian imprint in July of last year with a remix of Michael A’s ‘Analog’. His deep techno interpretation captured people’s hearts, exuding warmth and emotion throughout its seven minute journey. Now making his much anticipated return to Clubsonica, Loquai takes ‘Expression’ into more melodious territory. Drawing on influences from both progressive and deep house Konstantin reshapes the track into an emotional groover. Icy pianos, smooth chord changes and an underlying melancholia make for a heartfelt first act. Its unique ebb and flow leads to the first of two gorgeous breaks, fuelled once again by the delicate lead theme it’s a nod to past classics with a timeless air for the future. The third and final interpretation of ‘Expression’ is provided by Jonnas B who is returning to the label for his fourth appearance. The Colombian artist last appeared on Clubsonica with a stunning remix of Soluna’s ‘Sunset In Udaipur’ which was released in April of this year. Now making a quick return to what is fast becoming his home label Jonnas delivers a beautiful rendition of ‘Expression’. Beginning with a chunky low end, exotic percussion and reprocessed themes it immediately draws you in. Its free flowing musical style is incredibly captivating and as the storyboard unfolds its emotive power rises. As one of the tracks highlights, its two minute plus break is perhaps a sound story unto itself; richly textured with soulful moods its heartfelt harmonies guides you on the journey home. A lovely interpretation from Jonnas which rounds out the release with a reflective tone. Another stunning offering from Clubsonica Records, bringing you not only a great club sensibility but strong musicality as well. Don’t miss it.
