Bosnian Techno champion, Mladen Tomic, makes his label debut EP for M.in’s My Favourite Freaks imprint with his sublime ‘Hot Moog EP’.
Packed with 3 succulent floor bangers primed to kick the ass out of this year’s festival season, the EP kicks off with the powerful ‘Miss You’ armed with intense driving beats, menacing undercurrents and a dark vocal.
‘Hot Moog’ comes with an airy flavour, where intricate electronica dances over a crisp techy groove that’s injected with pressure filled breakdowns; and ‘Digitalism’ sports a potent, infectious hook that organically weaves it’s way throughout the track, creating a dynamic tension to rock for the floor.
Mladen Tomic is a Bosnian DJ and producer whose uncompromising sound and strong energy has won the hearts of clubbers and DJ’s alike across the globe. Mladen’s career began way back in 1999, when he joined forces with Sinisa Tamamović to promote events in their native Banja Luka and toured the Western Balkans. They soon founded their own label, Night Light Records, which they still run today. Since his first release on Fly Life in 2006, Mladen’s productions have been supported by dance music key players such as Dubfire, Richie Hawtin, John Acquaviva, Monika Kruse, Umek, Popof, Adam Beyer, Stefano Noferini and others, catapulting him to perform at some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals around the world.
Mladen‘s productions have appeared on top labels including Sci + Tec, Suara, Definitive Recordings, Terminal M, 1605, Octopus, 100% Pure, Deeperfect and Stereo Productions, as well as his own label. Some of his most successful works include Mladen and Sian’s joint single ‘Front Pocket’, remixed by Nicole Moudaber which reached number 1 on the Beatport Techno chart and their original mix No.3. More success came with his productions regularly hitting the Techno charts featuring on Techno Tools Vol.1 (Suara), his remix of ‘Airscape’ by Stefano Noferini and ‘Solar Wind’ (Sci + Tec). ‘730 Drink’, ‘West Beach’ and ‘Inside The Bootle’ on Night Light were all supported heavily by Richie Hawtin, with ‘730 Drink’ featuring on Richie’s Essential Mix for BBCR1.
Other notable productions include ‘Dance of Shadows’, ‘Global Mind’, ‘True Story’, ‘Under The Fool Moon’, ‘Tangas’, ‘Lady In The House’, ‘Green Cubes’ and still the beat goes on! Mladen also boasts an impressive remix portfolio, having remixed for the likes of Mauro Picotto, Sebastian Leger, Cristian Varela, Stefano Noferini, Chus & Ceballos, ANNA, Manuel De La Mare, Paolo Mojo, Marko Nastic and Boris, to name a few.
