Looking for inspiration beyond cult of personality DJ brands, Silencio is a music label uninterested in exposure for anyone but the artists. That’s why the founders—veterans of the Detroit and Berlin techno communities—remain cloaked in mystery.

The imprint’s latest arrives from two dab hands in the form of Laughing Man & Noah Skelton. Based out of Dublin, Ireland theirs is an ethereal, dreamy sound that makes a serious impression with only a sparse array of elements.

The clue is in the name too, as the Element EP kicks off with the title track, a blissfully arranged concoction of warm beats that’s perfectly in line with the forthcoming summer season. Imbued with firm kicks and gentle, floating melodies, it perfectly walks the line between deep and harder tropes.

The B-side features a Laughing Man original in the form of “1939”. Another delicate jam, it takes its cues from both Detroit and Chicago spheres, with the end result a harmonious melding of two different styles that emphatically displays the producer’s knack for diverse sounds.

All things considered, the Element EP is another stunning Silencio release that once again displays the label’s intentions with considerable panache.
