Sincopat is a label run by Spanish producer AFFKT and his friend Alberto Sola. Known for its melodic sound, the label has an open minded approach to House and Techno.

Many are aware of Sincopat and its impressive roster of artists that have seen recent releases feature music from the likes of Dave Seaman, Kyodai, Christian Nielsen, David Keno, Upercent and Raxon.

The new release from Audio Junkies is the production alias for Israeli producer Daniel Rave. Based in Tel Aviv, he has a rich history in electronic music with his music featured on labels including Suara, Diynamic, Lapsus Music, Sudbeat Music and Global Underground.

Audio Junkies music has previously received regular support from the likes of Sasha, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, John Acquaviva, Hernan Cattaneo, X-Press 2, Noir and Tiger Stripes.

He is also a live act regularly preforming in Israel, Brazil, Mexico and Europe.

Describing his sound as “…a unique blend of rhythms and grooves with melodic elements…” he now makes his fourth appearance on Sincopat.

Also featuring on the release is a remix from French artist Kiko, who has been making music since the mid 90’s, and has racked up a huge back catalogue including prestigious labels such as Global Underground, Break New Soil, Noir Music, Get Physical and BluFin.

Kiko aka Christophe Dallaca is also an established globe trotting DJ, who has played everywhere from Fabric in London to The Womb in Tokyo, and nearly every major club in between.

The vocals on this release are provided by Haptic who’s voice many will recognise from collaborations with Third Son, Darlyn Vlys, HearThuG, Fideles, AFFKT and Danny Serrano for releases on labels including Stil Vor Talent, This And That and microCastle.

“Three Of Us” has phasey hi-hats and ethereal pads that blended with bass stabs, form the foundation on which Haptic’s moody vocal sits. Sung softly, the brooding lyrics are both dark and beautiful giving the track an elegant sense of menace. Finished with delicate (sunrise) melody synths, the track’s melodic groove is both epic and wonderful.

The Kiko remix of “Three Of Us” is led by the addition of an arpeggiated lead synth. Kiko also chops Haptic’s vocal into phrases and smaller sections, which are then spread out across the track. Breaking up the vocal provides space for forceful bass swells and one-shots of explosive percussion, which combined add both intensity and drama. Overall Kiko’s version is more aggressive, but still holds the originals sense of mysterious beauty and provides a nice alternative for those who like things a little tougher.

“Syncopated” has a cosmic vibe built from a looped melody and pulsating bassline, which combined create a hypnotic groove. Fuelled by the rattle of fast flowing hi-hats, the tracks vast melody synth washed in delay gives it an expansive feel. Unique and full of personality, this quirky track is perfect for those who are looking for something a little different to shake up the dancefloor.

“Focal Point” finishes the EP with raw claps and mechanical rhythms that blend with tense pads. The pads build and twist with modulation as the track develops, until the main break where they subside and make way for an uplifting lead synth. Growling bass stabs add ferocity and the bassline provides the driving force.
