Lee-Ann Roberts and long time friend Jake Childs team up in this dark homage to late 90’s house and UK garage, with Child’s signature twists on synths laced through-out the track. The new UNI.FORM Recordings single entitled “Sensational Lies” begins with elements of early New York/Chicago house. Opening with a groovy 808, 90’s house inspired rhythm section and dusty layered synth chords towards a slow crescendo into a classic garage bass-line. Completing the track, Lee-Ann offers up some ominously sexy vocals to complete the overall “Uniform” sound unique to the label.

Lee-Ann moved to Los Angeles from Durban, South Africa to follow her dream of making it in the modeling world and then re-discovered her love for music. From the early days of being a radio DJ on MuthaFM with her own show called “The Heat with Lee-Ann Roberts” she is still constantly learning and perfecting her art. She does this by exposing herself to many friends that have themselves achieved great success in the DJ’ing world to studying with Soul Candi, Pioneer Sound and Audio Academy and now in Los Angeles with top DJ/Producer DJ Rap which she is also doing Ableton with to better her skills.

She is developing her own unique flair and has now moved into recording her own songs and helping with the production of the music for this album with Jake Childs. Jake Childs is an Electronic music producer and founded the record label UNI.FORM Recordings in 2002, which allowed him to collaborate with like-minded musicians, producers and DJs. Childs’ has performed his self-produced music on multiple international tours. He has played in the United States, Iceland, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Germany, Russia, Siberia, Switzerland, Brussels, Mexico and South Africa.

Lee-Ann met Jake in Durban in 2006 and they always kept in touch. He always said that he would love to use her deep husky vocals in one of his tracks and when the opportunity arose, she not only did the vocals but also got involved with the production and landed up staying and working in studio with Jake for two weeks and completing two tracks instead of just the one. The first track on this EP to be released on 5th December will be “Sensational Lies” and followed up with Track 2 “The Subliminal” in Feb 2017 and further tracks later in that same year.
