It sounds like Stil Vor Talent has a crossover release in waiting as Holz and Daso unite the worlds of melancholic pop and widescreen Germanic techno. “Konigskinder” sets the tone perfectly, with a rolling, evocative rhythm playing host to a tantalising melody that unfolds over the arrangement and the most melancholic vocals this side of Tracey Thorn. The title track is even more irresistible, with Holz and Daso’s collaboration revealing angelic hooks and tapping and representing the reflective side of the German psyche with introspective vocals. Oliver Koletzki has also fine-tuned his pop sensibilities, and although his remix of the title track features the kind of throbbing bass he is known for, he also includes an unforgettable piano line that will have listeners humming along all day long.
