French based in Berlin producer, J.E.E.P, is a full on musician since the day he was born. Also known as Jules Etienne -that’s the name he has used to release in labels such as German Robert Johnson and Sonar Kollectiv- this time he comes up with ‘Terroir Tropical EP’, which counts on a remix by Zombies in Miami. This release, which is number 062 in Galaktika Records, the label from Barcelona, contains also another track called ‘Submediterranean’.

‘Terroir Tropical’ is the party on the seashore, the cheeky conga drums which lead the beat, the half-naked dancing and the multiracial madness. It tastes like Brazil but it also tastes like Ibiza. It builds up from a tech-house base, adding the alien synths, which quickly mover towards an atmos- pheric and comfortable melody. The superb remix by Mexican producers Zombies in Miami, does, indeed ‘zombify’ the track by adding darker, stronger and slower touches to the original approach, turning it into a much more dancefloor oriented track… Boom!

‘Submediterranean’ is a soft and dreamy ethnic-house number which drinks from tropical grooves, tribal percussions and afro-loops as far as vocals are concerned. Therefore, a punch of high pitch and synthetized clouds is added. As soon as its clubby kick comes in, it feels like sunrise. You can dance to it, feel it and enjoy it. Its soft dub take slows it down, it makes it calm, sophisticated and adds another more danceable and nocturnal dimension to it.

In conclusion, Galaktika – with this ‘Terroir Tropical’ by French producer J.E.E.P add’s on another milestone to the read towards quality underground electronics.
