Sincopat is a label set up in 2010 by Spanish producer AFFKT and his friend Alberto Sola. Known for its melodic sound, the label has an open minded approach to House music.

Recent releases have featured music from people including Simon Baker, Pezzner, Kruse & Nuernberg, My Favorite Robot and Tiger Stripes mentioning only a small few from the labels impressive roster of artists.

This new release is another star studded affair with Sincopat regulars Darlyn Vlys and HearThuG collaborating on an original track called “Agore.” The pair comes with a proven musical pedigree and a combined back catalogue of releases on labels such as Stil Vor Talent, OFF Recordings, Get Physical Music, Click Records and Popof’s label Form Music amongst many others.

Darlyn Vlys is a French producer now living in Spain, who boasts prestigious gigs at venues such as Tresor in Berlin, plus events like the Sonar festival held in Barcelona. Having had tracks charted by the likes of Loco Dice, Dubfire, Monika Kruse and Matthias Tanzmann he is a jet setting DJ who regularly plays overseas gigs in far flung places like Brazil.

Jihed Monser aka HearThuG is a Tunisian producer and DJ who made contact with Darlyn Vlys through the Sincopat label after Darlyn remixed one of his tracks. With HearThuG tracks already charting the top 20 of the Beatport top 100 selling tracks, and his music picking up support from the likes of Maceo Plex, Steve Bug, Joris Voorn and Sasha, the pair decided to collaborate on this release.

The release also features a remix from Eric Volta who many will recognise from his releases on scene leading labels such as Connaisseur, Visionquest, My Favorite Robot and John Digweed’s label Bedrock Records.

Eric Volta is a London (UK) born DJ and producer who is now based in Germany. Playing regular DJ gigs in his home town of London he was often invited to play at venues like Fabric. Also a respected producer, Eric made early releases on Maceo Plex label Ellum Audio, but took things to the next level in 2013 when his “Love Your Illusion” track signed to Art Department’s label No.19 was voted one of 2013’s biggest tracks by both DJ Mag and Resident Advisor.

With a dark and techy sound this release is centred round an original track called “Agore,” which is dark and melodic with dramatic percussion and a haunting male vocal that holds a sense a menace. Fused with bass swells and morphing synth parts, the track builds with tension as it develops. Dancefloor focused from start to finish this masterpiece of modern electronic music sits somewhere between Tech House and Melodic Techno, and for those who don’t like vocals, the second track is a dub mix where the synth parts take control.

Not content with their original version, Darlyn Vlys and HearThuG have also collaborated on an alternative mix of Agore which is titled the “Cosmo Edit.” Keeping the originals synth parts and vocal this new version has stripped back percussion that gives it a deeper, less menacing and more uplifting sound compared to the original.

Finishing the release is the Eric Volta remix, which is the perfect intro tool with its synth lead, melodic intro and faded in kick drum. When the track drops and the percussion takes hold, it’s both warm an understated with a medley of textures and deep atmospherics. Adding his own melody parts, he also chops up the originals vocal into phrases to put his own stamp on this stunning rework. Deeper than any of the other versions Eric’s remix has dream like qualities but enough energy to make sure it still works on the dancefloor.
