Our Fire originally appeared on the Cubenx album Elegiac (released November 2015 via InFiné). This new alternate version is a sonic excursion into shoegaze territory, carefully balanced between evanescent lyrics and guitar distortions. This track is a nod to Plato’s allegory of the Cave and suggests an ultimate solution : the nomadism and the dazzling of the perpetual movement.

The opening track is an almost acoustic ballad deliciously drenched and electrified with reverberation. Entitled Bonfire version, this smooth and bright reinterpretation by Cubenx himself is the one to listen to around a fire in summer on Sayulita beach.

Danton Eeprom offers a hypnotic journey comprised of techno beats and delightful synth sonic squeaking, perfectly suited for the first rays of sunshine of this spring´s equinox.

Han´s remix (as heard on InFiné’s #Explorer2 compilation), has been composed to include two movements. On first listen, its ethereal, organic and introspective, and then the producer from Taiwan slowly introduces a long-lasting and oppressive rise of raw electro layers to break it with a sudden final collapse. It sounds as if the powerful flame was vanishing into a cloud of ashes in a purple horizon.

Last but by no means least, Phon.O turns “Blindfold” and Yasmine Hamdan vocals into a pure club track with UK Garage style vocal chops and swing. Driven by well-oiled housy mechanics and some dizzying synth sounds, the voice of Lebanese singer Hamdan now unrecognisable – following Cubenx’s original message in her own way – calling for the escape of the time being and the absolution by relentless dance steps.
