In 2009, the Klartraum pairing of Nadja Lind and Helmut Ebritsch initiated with the All Dimensions EP what would become the first of 100 releases on Lucidflow. Originally set up to retain creative and logistical control for their work together and as solo entities, Ludicflow broadened out to encompass friends – both long time and those spontaneous encounters from their worldwide journeys. Since then, they have released digitally, moved into the realm of the physical via CD before recently joining in on the vinyl revolution with eight pieces of Lucidflow hitting wax.

Now the grand LF100 catalogue number falls to production machine Nadja herself (have no fear, Helmut also makes a showing) with Vagus. At first the track seems restrained for the big 100th blowout. This all changes at the first break. A helicopter whirr 303 drifts in before demented staccato stabs finger jab at you from all angles. Fun and growling.

Even the usually silken smooth Helmut seems bitten by the bug. His remix breaks down and puts the sole focus on the demented synths, coming across like a delirious gothic fairground ride before kicking back in with its long tailed subby kicks.

Justin Berkovi, who was recently brought into the Lucidlow family circle, ups the ante even further, aiming squarely at the dancefloor with vibrant 909 hats and classic Detroit chord stabs. Although, for the more languid amongst us, Nadja turns in an extra ‘Deep’ remix, full of progressive funk. The dementia is lessened but the energy is unabated.
