Biotop is proud to welcome Hans Thalau to the family. For his debut EP on Biotop, Hans reactivates his project Der Thal.

From 2008 to 2011 Hans was quite active under that moniker, releasing solo and collaboration EPs with his buddies Russ Gabriel and Afrilounge on labels such as Morris Audio Citysport, Ferox, Flug von Welt, and his own Thalcom imprint.

After 5 years of silence it’s about time to drop some fresh Der Thal sounds. Hans dug deep into his very own sound planet at Thal Studios, located in the south German motor city of Stuttgart.

Combining deep dubby chords, melancholic dreamy pads, and driving low end grooves, Hans sends Der Thal on a new voyage, resulting in a perfect moody EP for Biotop. ”Higher Soul” will be released in April, complete with delicate mastering by Martin Eyerer and a beautiful cover design by Felicia Anina.
