No Lucidflow album release is complete without inviting friends, family, pets and robots to the party and, true to form, following Riccimoto’s Porn Fiction issuing will be a remix revisit featuring an all-star cast. Details on this extravaganza will follow in due course as the focus quickly turns to the next EP release in the Lucidflow catalogue; a taster of what is to come from the Porn Fiction remixes with five hand selected tracks from the forthcoming long player.
Leading with label bosses Klartraum, Nadja and Helmut turn their psychic production powers to ‘Get Ready’, taking Riccicomoto’s smooth dub lounge grooves on an airy journey through the clouds. Flutes, trumpets and disco stabs rub up against drifting pads and the chime of dub chords.
‘In The Mood’ sees low profile producer Zamali riff on the 70’s sleaze and funk vibe in a style reminiscent of United Future Organisation’s work in the nineties, running with a remix that should surely come complete with a sheepskin coat and a wisecracking detective’s sidekick.
Like an autumnal vista of undulating light and dark greys, Spanish based producer and Vlosfer label boss Ivan Garci takes control on ‘We Feel Too Little’ with a mix that gracefully moves through the motions, swelling as the melody pierces through the track in its final third like the pale yellow late year sun breaking through cloud.
Finally, ‘Shadows and Lights’ gets two treatments. The first is a Megablast re-edit, riffing on the apocalyptic hook of the original before settling into a solid 4/4 groove. Balearic producer Tim Angrave gets his Involver head on, taking the very same riff but making it the centrepiece of an excellent broken beat journey.
An exemplary package, the Porn Fiction remix sampler hits the streets in November, giving you an early window into a fantastic compilation to come.
