Banquet is the brand new EP from Mexican producer Cubenx that continues to blur music genre lines and demonstrate his ability as both a songwriter and electronic music producer – a skill he’s been executing effortlessly since his debut LP On Your Own Again was released in 2011. This EP also unveils the vocal talent of Pris Wayland who will join Cubenx on his forthcoming live European tour.

First and foremost, Banquet is the result of an unexpected encounter between Cubenx and singer Pris Wayland. They spent hours expatiating upon the sound and aesthetics of cyberpunk and sci-fi film Blade Runner. From those exalted discussions came the idea to collaborate and to define a clear and disconcerting musical direction. One which blends asymetric rhythms with the details of modern sound design; one which sets in motion a fascinating soundscape where dystopian analog synths relentlessly swash over celestial vocals.

The eponymous track invites the listeners to a celestial mass, where futuristic drums gradually make way for ancestral choruses. The voice of the singer leads its followers to a singular feeling of spiritual freedom. Cubenx takes control of the spaceship with Blazing and veers in a (totally) controlled manner from a hypnotic introduction to captivating uncharted noisy territories.

Deauville is an ethereal ballade where extra-terrestrial bass lines responds in the catchiest manner to the incredibly rich vocal spectrum of Pris Wayland. The concluding track of the EP Reality Check oscillates between movements of reverberation and extended cinematic guitar waves, resonating like a deep breath of cosmic air.
