JAN PLOETZLICH

KASKADEN

3000Grad Records / 3000Grad026

Release Date: 13-07-2015

Play it at low volume, and it’s wonderful background music for an easy-going get-together.

Crank it on a decent sound system, and there’s some serious party ahead. Weightless echoes and heavy square basses, lofty trumpet sounds and solid rhythms, dreamy vocal parts and wide-awake dance floor presence: Jan Plötzlich creates compelling pressure as if it was the easiest and most natural thing in the world.

The Sea is one of those titles that roll gently along like a steamboat on a sunday cruise, only after the first break you realize how far it took you out there.

Whereas the standing sub-bass of Don’t Go Away leaves no doubt that you’re moving forward – vocal and trumpet tracks represent mellow chains of association.

In his remix, Mollono.Bass is all about understatement, the result is a dubby tune that draws its hypnotic power out of nowhere. Available with and without vocal parts.

Last but not least there’s the buzzed cheerfulness of Scotch. Whatever Pophop adds to it in his remix – the resulting cocktail is high-octane and heady as it can be.
