Lee Burton returns to the Amam imprint late July with the ‘Concrete Waves’ EP, featuring three original tracks and remixes from Paul Mad and The Magnecian.

Greek producer Lefteris Kalabaks aka Lee Burton has been releasing material since 2010 via the likes of Athens based imprint Klik Records, Plastic City and of course Amam where he returns to here following a string of original productions for the label over the past few years.

Across the ‘Concrete Waves’ EP Burton delivers his signature striking production style with finesse and an inherently understated quality throughout, kicking things off is ‘Le Coq’ which lays its focus on weighty, low-slung rhythms, swirling dub echoes and wreathing subs. Up next is ‘Kepler’ which tips the focus over a deeper, more refined palette of sound with soft ethereal textures, shuffling drums and pulsating bass tones, Hungarian producer Paul Mad’s take on ‘Kepler’ follows and reshapes the original number into a raw, stripped-back cut solely focused on modulating percussion and sweeping atmospherics.

On the latter half of the EP we have ‘Janus’ to gradually wind things down, here Burton employs mellifluous pads and deft percussive touches to create a warm and cosseting composition, the package is then rounded off with Berlin-based Greek producer The Magnecian, aka Burton’s some time production partner Mr Statik’s ‘Hyde Dub’ of ‘Janus’, which implant a more up-front feel to the rhythmic aspects while retaining the floaty air of the original’s synthesized elements.

Lee Burton’s ‘Concrete Waves’ EP is out on Amam 20th July 2015.
