Texas-bred, San Francisco-schooled and Berlin based producer, DJ and vocalist Kevin Knapp makes his first solo appearance on Hot Creations.

 

“To say I’m stoked that Jamie, Lee & the Hot Creations crew picked up my first solo EP on the label would be an understatement. After making my initial appearance with a vocal contribution for Richy’s ‘The Drums’ on the label followed by our Hot Summer Jams contribution ‘Keep It Rough,’ which I co-produced with my Berlin Brothers Mat.Joe, I thought It would be nice to contribute a couple of cuts all by my lonesome. It’s hard to think of a label I love more at the moment and I’m honored to be contributing to a label that comprises such a large percentage of my personal sound and aural philosophy.” – Kevin Knapp

‘HEFT’ sounds as the name might suggest, a weighty, hypnotic thumper with a reverbing vocal. A real sternum shaker, ‘Not Your House’ came together almost entirely in one sitting, thumping house vibes with a  raw edge.

o+ Equally adept in the studio, on the decks and behind the mic, Kevin Knapp has emerged from the bustling Bay Area dance music community to international attention, with support from the likes of Matt Tolfrey, Richy Ahmed, Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Eats Everything, Claude VonStroke and Audiojack. It was only a matter of time before Knapp heard the call of the global techno capital, relocating to Berlin in early 2013.

o+o He’s also become a fixture on the international circuit, gigging across the globe, from Detroit to New Dehli, San Diego to Seoul, and appearing at industry-leading events like Movement (DEMF), ADE and Off-Sonar Week. His releases and collaborations can be found on the likes of Leftroom, Dirtybird, OFF Recordings, Defected and now Hot Creations.
