Next up on the French Time Has Changed label is the boss man himself, Acumen, in collaboration with the talented Ranacat. The dynamic duo turn out two essential singles with a fantastic remix also included by 8Bit Records man Gorge.

Ranacat is a producer you should not have been able to miss recently thanks to his excellent releases on Mobilee. He’s a producer of sophisticated quality house, absolutely perfect for beautiful days, short skirts, rooftops and other delights of events like Sonar to come.

‘Orchis Simia’ is a deep and grotty bit of physical tech house at an inviting mid-tempo pace. The bassline stabs are raw, the percussion is crisp and comes complete with some classic cowbell pings and the whole thing is softened with some lush, emotive and introspective pads that really add feeling.

The remix comes from Gorge, a long time champion of loopy tech house who draws big crowds around the world and whose productions make it into all the best record bags. This remix is a crisp, clean thing that seems to expand and contract before your very ears, with silvery snare hits, deep loopy bass and killer lead lines that really suck you in and make you dance.

Finally, Tantalizing is a much slower, more melodic effort for early in the morning or late a night, with its lazy hi hats, liquid chords and pleasant scales. Muted acid and clean, catchy vocal also help make this a sure fire summer anthem.
