Not So Lonely EP
Wolf & Lamb
Buy: Juno
Lonely C & Baby Prince is a new partnering fusing one half of Soul Clap with one half of Wolf + Lamb in a new strain to their creative collective.
Made during the same sessions as the addictive DJ Kicks compilation from Wolf + Lamb vs Soul Clap, created during the artists relocation to Miami during late 2010, Gadi Mizrahi (Wolf + Lamb / Double Standard) and Charles Levine (Soul Clap) produce together for the first time under the alias Lonely C & Baby Prince. With strains of funk, soul, disco and contemporary electronic music running through its vein, Lonely C & Baby Prince leave you spellbound with this collection of tracks.
Four warm and enthralling productions make up ‘Not So Lonely’ EP, starting with the bass led ‘I Remember Those Days’, a vintage 80s pop sounding record sounding like the Egyptian Lover meets Prince with softly sung male vocals from Charles Levine himself AKA Lonely C.
‘Just Be Yourself’ takes a more hip hop turn playing with loose basslines, chopped up samples, rhythmic beats and synth stabs taking an other worldly style in the same vein as their close friends and collaborators, Lee Foss and Jamie Jones. ‘Herpulese & Love Disease’ steps down the tempo and experiments with melodic sonic frequencies as robotic cries meet eerie soundscapes inventing a new strain of funk house.
Finally ‘Your Mom’s House’ works up waves of energy through whistling, warm splashes of sound unveiling an epic entity that encompasses the vast potential of this new collaboration. Wolf + Lamb and Soul Clap have risen to new heights over the past two years and come to embody an exciting new movement for electronic music. Loosely based around The Marcy Hotel in Brooklyn New York City, their various family members form a loose and enormously creative collective of artists that continue to mutate and cross pollinate inventing fresh flavours of music.
