Who Made Up The Rules

Ovum

Buy: Juno

You might remember Agaric by his real name, Patrick Skoog, and his Headroom moniker under which he released a number of much lauded techno cuts in the nineties. But those days are long gone: these days it’s all about warm, melodic and mellow house and techno for the producer, who since the start of his career has released over 100 (!) releases. Who Made Up The Rules follows up on his trademarked spheric sounds in the form of 10 cuts remarked by rich, techy layers of percussion, bass, fx and a truckload of unexpected twists in almost every tune. Star Core opens the album with a touch of interstellar electrojazz, after which things are pitched up with chunky floor tracks such as Who Made Up The Rules and the Detroit-y Nahua. Our pick? Metro, definitely. Huge track
