It’s been a couple of years since Brett Johnson graced us with his sonic intentions and we missed him, so the name of this release seems appropriate.

‘Mr Johnson’s Talk’n Now’ delivers acidic squelchiness, the ‘OG Demo Mix’ jacking with a nervous driving beat and Luke Solomon’s ‘Video Games Rework’ introducing some funky disco loops.

‘BJ’s Revamped Version’ has a more profound groove, reaching into the deeper end of the acidic pool and pulling out some caustic basslines.

Tying ‘Mr Johnson’s Talk’n Now’ together is a stream-of-consciousness rambling from Brett; a take on the breathy, pseudo-spiritual spoken word that plagues certain electronic music, with tongue firmly in cheek.

Making up the EP is ‘Give It To Them’, pulsing and kicking with attitude and full of playful loops. It’s good to have Brett Johnson back.
