The next release on Lucidflow welcomes a new face into the family. An up and coming talent on the Argentinian scene, Nadja Popoff’s dub tinged sound has been working its way through Europe on respected labels like Italy’s Amam and Berlin’s Wet Cellar Records.

‘The Spectrum’ is archetypal Lucidflow, fitting the label like a glove. It’s beats have incredible punch, piercing through murky dub chords. Accenting this is a strong and long atonal chord, sounding like an oncoming ghostly freight train.

Moving on to ‘Spellbound’, it is a track that begs to be layered. The long understated intro will suit the technical DJ right down to the T, allowing you to keep an extensive blend running until the big mid-point drop.

Finishing off is ‘Flow Of Flowers’. Its dub elements are sometimes submerged and aquatic, sometimes staccato like the distant peal of thunder. Filling the position of lightning are the emphatic synthy fills that flashes across the tumbling bassy groove.

In addition to this trio, label co-founder Nadja Lind steps up with a perky remix of ‘The Spectrum’. Spiritually, it feels like a traditional London cellar shaker, especially once the dirty pipe bassline kicks in over the final breakdown. At this point, the Berlin influence seeps in with elastic melodies decorating the once stripped bare backing.

The release hits on 11th July 2016 on digital media, it also benefits with Nadja’s remix being present in Native Instruments STEM format. Get creative.
