Lucidflow owners Nadja Lind and Helmut Ebritsch stride confidently into the middle of 2016 with an incredibly strong three tracker. The Blue Pearl EP also sees a first for the label which will debut onto Native Instruments Stems format, letting you shape everything to fit your set like a glove.

Leading off is ‘Modena’, a slow burning track which is part New Orleans Jazz, part slightly unhinged hypno-house groover. Spiderish synths sit alongside muted trumpet solos, all wrapped up in velvet smooth bassline.

Title track ‘Blue Pearl’ is a more angular, working the filter on its bassline from bared teeth growls into an organic pulse. The key moment is the big drop – gauzy rather than sheer – bringing with it marimbas and classic nineties prog-trance synths, all swirled up in effects captured straight from the cosmos.

Rounding off, ‘Red Face’ bears the hallmarks of mid-2000 minimal – hollow staccato and off beat sub hits – before broadening out, its one note stabs being joined by pads, melodies and counter melodies. One for taking you from the darkness into the light.
