Adult Central is a fresh Romanian label that is gaining some serious momentum being championed by Sven Väth, DJ Hell and James Zabiela, whilst having a track picked up for a Ministry of Sound compilation in the process.

This new vinyl only release titled “Adult Nightclub Pt. 1” is a diverse collection of tracks including artists Brendon Moeller, label boss Radu Dracul, who produces under the alias of “The Model” along with two debut acts Minus & Ion and KASIM.

The last release picked up set lists and support from a long list including Dirt Crew, Jacques Renault, Josh Wink, Pan-Pot, Agoria, Ambivalent, Joris Voorn, James Teej and Dusky to mention just a small few.

Continuing with its run of genre defying releases that blur the line between House and Techno, this release fuses the Deep Techno of Brendon Moeller with the upbeat party vibes of The Model and introduces us to a couple of new producers in the process.

A1 – Brendon Moeller – Asteroids

The first track is from American producer Brendon Moeller who is known to many for his stellar Techno releases on labels that include Third Ear Recordings, Echocord, Electric Deluxe and Mord. With eclectic taste and a distinctive production style Brendon’s works vary in tempo and genre, but one thing that binds his music is analogue warmth and infectious grooves.

Brendon’s track titled “Asteroids” is Deep Techno at its very best with a rolling bass line, fast flowing hi-hats and modulated synth parts, which build and morph as the track develops. Understated, but full of energy, the track is chic and atmospheric, but not too aggressive that it couldn’t also be used as part of a House set.

A2 – The Model – House TV

Second on this release is a track from label boss The Model, whose music has featured on other labels including International DeeJay Gigolo, Traum and My Favorite Robot. With an underground sound that’s still accessible by the mainstream, The Model’s music has similar qualities to that of Green Velvet or Joseph Capriati.

“House TV” by The Model is thick and chunky with a raw funk to the bass line. Combining a vocal about where House music got its name, with the menacing laughs of another sample, the track is instantly recognisable and hard to forget. Although underground, “House TV” isn’t taking itself too seriously and has a party vibe that many will find appealing.

B1 – Minus & Ion – Low

Track three is from Minus & Ion who make their first ever release with this mixed artist EP. Minus aka Daniel Stanciu is a talented musician who amongst other achievements was selected to attend the Red Bull Music Academy, which for those who don’t already know is a school of musical excellence run by the Red Bull drinks company. ION aka Ion Dumitrescu is a new alias for an already established artist best known to many as Future Nuggets. A hyped musician with a background in live analogue jamming, Ion is something of a music genius.

The Minus & Ion track is titled “Low” that is based around a vocoded vocal, which adds a deep and dreamy texture that compliments the lead synth parts. Driven by the bass line and chunky percussion, the track keeps one eye on the dancefloor whilst the other looks towards chilling out at the after party. Dual-purpose, this track could be used to build things up or wind things down, but regardless of where it’s played it won’t disappoint.

B2 – K.A.S.I.M. – Imperfecto

Finishing off this EP are K.A.S.I.M. who are the second act making their debut and first ever release on any label. A production duo based in the Romanian city of Bucharest, the pair consisting of Tiberiu Jakab and Bogdan Danciu. Influenced by robots and science fiction, the pair have a fascination with artificial intelligence which bleeds into their futuristic music.

Fourth and final is the K.A.S.I.M. track titled “Imperfecto“ that starts off with captivating melodic pads, but despite its deep and moody start things soon pick up pace. A third of the way in the sudden introduction of the up tempo lead sound changes the mood and lifts the track. Filled with a new energy, it’s not long before the pads return and the journey continues. Epic in every sense of the word, this hidden gem is the unexpected weapon that every DJ needs!
