Matteo Spedicati is back on Amam with his brand new ‘Smoking Mirrors’ EP to end the summer in beauty, including his two original tracks and three lovely remixes.

From Cagliari, Sardinia, Matteo Spedicati has always been embedded in music through playing guitar from a very young age. After checking out studios with his friends here and there, he managed to release some bombs that were supported by artists such as Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin and Marco Carola. He then collaborated with many different producers and is now still evolving in the deep electronic music scene.

Kicking off is his deep and bassy ‘Jose Key’, defined by the deep synthesizer and harmonious bassline sounds throughout the track. This catchy yet trippy and long track can only drag you into its world of unceasing changing sounds. Madrid’s Alex Under’s take on this composition is slightly more rhythmic with a stronger use of kicks, hi-hats and claps… perfect for club DJs.

Next off is ‘Smoking Mirrors’, another one of Matteo’s bombs, which is definitely best to listen to at afterparties or early in the morning. Its ambient yet rhythmic grooves can switch a mood from tired to excited in literally seconds. Alexi Delano adds his deep oriental touch with some lovely vocals and middle-eastern style sounds to Matteo’s original. Javier Orduña’s version modifies Matteo’s original into a more minimalistic and high-pitched sounding tune, perfect to finish up this EP.
